The 2010 Mercedes-Benz North Americans will be hosted by Fleet 73 at the Buffalo Yacht Club. Registration for the event is now open (and accessible via the "Register" link in the above menu). The Club will be open to registrants beginning Sunday, August 15th. Inspection, weigh-ins and late registration will be conducted from Sunday through Wednesday. Competitors are welcome to join Fleet 73 for their normal races on Tuesday evening. Formal events begin on Wednesday, August 18th. A practice race will be conducted that afternoon, followed by a tuning lecture by 2008 World Champion Greg Fisher. A BBQ and Opening Ceremonies for the event are scheduled Wednesday evening. Racing will begin Thursday morning and continue through Saturday morning as needed.
Food and beverages (yes, BEER!) are included in your registration for this event (Wednesday through Saturday); and our famous Raw Bar will be open on Friday evening for an additional $25. Closing ceremonies and awards will begin shortly after racing ends on Saturday, leaving folks plenty of time to pack up and return home that evening or Sunday.
We are going to feature not only the gold class (the fast guys and gals), but we shall present a junior division, a ladies division and a masters division. Our plans are to have one start for all classes but separate awards for the aforementioned.
Please join us for the largest J/22 event this year!! See the Schedule of Events and Notice of Race for more details.

The Buffalo Yacht Club recently finished the installation of two fully automated three ton cranes and the completion of a dry sail area. Fleet 73 members now have the option of dry sailing their boats at the BYC and the fleet now has the facilities available to run a first-rate regatta for out of town boats.
The fleet sails on Tuesday nights from the end of May into the month of September as part of the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club’s China Light/One Design program, regularly drawing over 20 J/22’s for the evening’s two races. The fleet also sails on Wednesday nights as a one design fleet with the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club, with considerably less attendance, due to a number of skippers with larger boats that race in other fleets. Once the official races end, the fleet continues to sail Saturday mornings into the fall.
